Ally McCoist

Biography

Ally McCoist, born September 24, 1962, is a Scottish former footballer and manager who played as a striker. Known as a prolific goalscorer, he is the fifth-highest all-time goalscorer in the top tier of the Scottish football league system, having scored 260 times for Rangers.

Born in Bellshill, McCoist began his career with St. Johnstone before moving to Rangers in 1983. He spent the majority of his playing career at Ibrox, becoming the club's all-time record goalscorer with 362 goals in all competitions. He also had spells with Sunderland and Kilmarnock before retiring in 2001.

Managerial Career

After retiring as a player, McCoist began his managerial career with Kilmarnock in 2006. He later managed Rangers from 2011 to 2014, winning the Scottish League One and Scottish Championship titles. Since then, he has held various coaching and punditry roles.

Legacy

Ally McCoist is widely regarded as one of the greatest Scottish strikers of all time. His goalscoring exploits and dedication to Rangers have cemented his status as a club legend.
